PUNCH SHORT DE PUNCH
Punch is one of the oldest Habanos brands. Don Manuel Lopez of Juan Valle & Co. founded this brand in the middle of the 19th century with a view to the profitable British market. At that time, a satirical magazine of the same name celebrated great success there. A satisfied Mr. Punch, the clown who represented the magazine, can still be seen with a cigar in his hand on every box. His portrait is surrounded by images of 19th century cigar making, which have remained virtually unchanged for a century and a half.
After some Punch cigars have been discontinued in recent years, Habanos S.A. now presents a new format in the brand's standard range. Its name is "Short de Punch" and it has the dimensions of a slightly shorter Robusto: 120 mm long with a ring size of 50. This format is so far unique in the Habanos range and at the same time the cigar with the largest ring size in the Punch range. The production name of the format is "Paraísos" (in German "Paradies"). The tobacco blend is medium strong and corresponds to
the one that is typical of the Punch brand.
The cigars consist of a selection of the finest tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo, the home of tobacco, which is among the best in the world. The noble Longfiller were manufactured according to the method "totalmente a mano", which is still exclusively used in Cuba.
