"Veguero" is Spanish for the tobacco farmer. Without him, there would be no tobacco for cigars. His work is hard and arduous. He has to inspect and care for every single one of the often over one hundred thousand plants on a plantation more than 150 times during a vegetation period. The brand Vegueros is dedicated to these important workers, who have been cultivating the tobacco in Pinar del Rio for generations. It is on the market since 1996 and is now in completely new form in the shops: with new formats, new design and innovative packaging. It consists of three compact formats Mañanitas (length 100 mm, band size 46), Entretiempos (110 mm, band size 52) and Tapados (length 120 mm, band size 46). They come in cardboard packets of 4 and in metal tins of 16. Also new are the blends of the cigars, which are a little lighter than the original formats. Habanos classifies them as medium strength to strong. They are manufactured according to the classical method "totalmente a mano" – completely by hand - in the factory “Francisco Donatién” in the heart of the Cuban tobacco centre Pinar del Rio.
