DE: Die überaus beliebte Linie „Edmundo“ der im Jahr 1935 gegründeten Habanos-Marke Montecristo bekommt Verstärkung. Mit der Wide Edmundo führt Habanos nun das vierte Format ein. Der Produktionsname der neu entwickelten Vitola lautet Duke No.3. Es hat eine Länge von 125 mm und ein Ringmaß von 54, was es zu dem Format mit dem größten Durchmesser in der Edmundo-Linie macht. Die charakteristische Tabakmischung entfaltet sich deshalb besonders harmonisch. Die Stärke entwickelt sich beim rund einstündigen Genuss der Cigarre von mittelkräftig zu mittelkräftig bis kräftig.
Die Montecristo Wide Edmundo wird vollständig von Hand als Longfiller gefertigt. Sie besteht aus einer Auswahl von Tabakblättern aus der Vuelta Abajo, in der Region Pinar del Rio.
Die Cigarren kommen in den für die Edmundo-Linie typischen unbeklebten Kisten mit 10 und 25 Stück Inhalt in den Handel. Zum ersten Mal verwendet Habanos bei diesem Format einen zweiten Ring mit der Formatbezeichnung „Wide Edmundo“.

Der Name ist eine Hommage an den berühmten Roman „Der Graf von Montecristo“ von Alexandre Dumas. Dieser Roman war eine bei den „Torcedores“ genannten Cigarrenrollern sehr beliebte Lektüre des Vorlesers in der Manufaktur.
