For the second time, Habanos s.a. is launching an exclusive cigar for the Chinese New Year. A particularly rare format was chosen for this: the Hermosos No.1 with a length of 167 mm and a ring gauge of 48.
This impressive cigar from the traditional Hoyo de Monterrey brand is packed in shiny boxes in red and gold, the typical colors of the Chinese New Year. The year 2021 is the "year of the ox" according to the Chinese calendar. This is why it is also found on the lid of the box as a gold-metallic inlay. There is also a second ring at the base of the cigar, which represents the ox. Since the number 8 has a special meaning as a lucky number in China, each box contains eighteen of these wonderful cigars. The shape of the box is reminiscent of Asian temples.

Exclusive Habanos for the Chinese New Year
For the second time, Habanos s.a. is launching an exclusive cigar for the Chinese New Year. A particularly rare format was chosen for this: the Hermosos No.1 with a length of 167 mm and a ring gauge of 48.

The mixture of the Hoyo de Monterrey Primaveras is kept light as is typical of the brand. Due to the large format, the fine and balanced flavors come into their own. The extraordinary Vitola Hermoso No.1 was made as “Montecristo Dantés” of the Edición Limitada 2016 and as Romeo y Julieta Hermoso No.1 of the Edición Limitada 2003. The San Cristóbal de La Habana Mercaderes also had this format. They were part of a now discontinued line that was offered exclusively for La Casas del Habano.
China is a rapidly growing market for Habanos and is already in second place behind Spain. There is enormous interest in Cuban cigars in the land of the rising sun. This is why Chinese aficionados around the world are looking for Habanos.
The cigars are rolled from carefully selected top tobacco from the Vuelta Abajo growing region in Pinar del Rio. The production takes place "totalmente a mano" - as a completely hand-made long filler. Only in Cuba are all cigars made exclusively in this traditional way.
