If one cigar factory in Havanna is especially famous, it is the Partagás factory. It is located in the Calle Industria 520, just behind the Capitol, in the heart of the city. The brand was launched in 1845 by Don Jaime Partagás. Since then the cigars bear his name.

You can immediately recognise a Partagás by its heavy, earthy aroma. The character of this mixture is traced back to a selection of fillers and binders from the tobacco cultivation zone Vuelta Abajo, chosen for their unmistakable richness in taste and aroma.

Partagás are available in a wide selection of formats, including the Lusitania and the 8-9-8, a cigar which received its name from the manner it is arranged in three layers one above the other in the box.

The perhaps most well-known Partagás however is the Partagás range D No. 4, a Robusto, which was once part of the legendary Partagás alphabet in the 1930s. In 2005 a Piramide, the Partagás range P No. 2, was added which was very quickly popular with lovers of strong cigars. Since 2011 the Partagás range D No. 5 and the Partagás range E No. 2 with band size 54 have been expanding this line.

All formats are totalmente a mano, tripa larga – long fillers completely manufactured by hand.
