José L. Piedra is an especially remarkable Habano, because the fillers are not only from the tobacco cultivation zone Remedios, but the cigars are totalmente a mano, tripa corta – short fillers completely manufactured by hand.

The Piedra family came from the Spanish province Asturia to settle in Cuba in the 1880s. They settled near Santa Clara, in the heart of the Remedios region, where tobacco has been grown since the 16th century. There they began to manufacture cigars.

The second generation headed by José Lamadrid Piedra founded and developed the brand as we know it today.

All seven formats of the José L. Piedra are manufactured in the traditional totalmente a mano, tripa corta process – short fillers completely manufactured by hand.
