The Habanos Brands

It has been more than two hundred years since the first Habanos brand was registered. Countless new brands have been manufactured in Cuba since then to satisfy the various tastes, styles and habits of the aficionados all over the globe.

Today, there are 27 brands which are manufactured under the protected origin designation of Habanos (according to the “Consejo Regulador de la Denominación de Origen Protegida Habanos y otras Tabacaleras Cubanas” – the regulatory advisory board for the protected origin designation Habanos).

The protected origin designation Habanos is reserved for the best, top quality cigars with more than three grammes weight in Cuba - totalmente a mano – completely manufactured by hand according to the rules put down by the regulatory advisory board, implemented by the Cuban cigar industry, manufactured from the tobacco of various regions in Cuba which are likewise protected as designations of origin.
